Printing Parameters:

  • Avoid leaving filament in a heated nozzle for an extended period of time.
  • Recommended Printing Temperature: 215-225°C
  • Recommended Bed Temperature: 60°C
  • Recommended Printing Speed: 60-80 mm/sec
  • Extrusion Multiplier: 0.9-0.95
  • Nozzle Diameter: minimum 0.4 mm
  • This filament can be post-processed to look either smooth or rough.

The filament is shipped in a vacuum-sealed package with a desiccant packet. Ferro-Magnetic PLA should be stored in a dry environment away from dust and other particles. User should avoid extended exposure to moisture. We recommend storing in an enclosed container with a desiccant packet. 3D printers, especially their nozzles, should always be maintained, and should be cleaned before and after use of Ferro-Magnetic PLA to avoid complications during printing. Users are also instructed to wash their hands before and after use of Ferro-Magnetic PLA.

Please note that because of the iron content, this PLA is more abrasive and brittle than standard PLA and requires more attention. Be ready to do a first layer adjustment or replace your nozzle. Please use a wear resistant or larger diameter nozzle for longer prints.

We recommend neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) or samarium cobalt (SmCo) magnets for the best results.
